August 2017

8/27/2017

Hi all,

Realised I haven't blogged for a while so here is a quick update.

It's been a real struggle the last few months, some of you may or may not know that my Mum lost her brave battle with cancer in June.  I think it's fair to say it's been the single most devastating experience of my life.  My mum was more than a parent to me, she was my best friend and part of my life every single day.      They say time is a great healer but if I'm honest, it gets harder.  I know that's not a great thing to say but I'm sure anyone else who has experienced this kind of loss will understand.  I'm lucky, I have a great husband and son alongside a close knit family and lifelong friends that have been helping me through this process, so I'll keep taking each day as it comes 💗

Despite all this the show must go on and I've had a few shoots recently, one being for a pro-biotic brand (like an Activia!).  It was certainly one of the more unusual shoots I've ever done, I'd say it was more of a movement piece that included lots of physical theatre...the only twist being was that I had to do this in a morph suit.

Yes a morph suit.

We had to enact all kinds of internal 'activity' and no the suits weren't flattering, and no it wasn't always my dream to be in a commercial enacting bloating and flatulence!  Whatever pays the bills though sometimes ;) :)
From commercials to photoshoots, I was delighted to be asked to go and shoot for Panasonic's latest product.   As always with tech campaigns you're not allowed to take any behind the scenes pictures but I can tell you it was a lot of fun and the gadgets are very cool!
On a completely different note, my hubby and I ran our first ever Film Festival on the 19th of August, in case you don't know we run a boutique digital creative agency called Bou Mou Productions (www.boumou.com) and this was in conjunction with local brand Wheels and Fins.  Wheels and Fins is an amazing event here in Kent and we were able to offer digital and creative support to Dave Melmoth and his team to bring films from all around the world to further enhance their brand's reach and presence globally.

We do video production, digital amplification and can run live activations for brands and companies looking to enhance their online presence and also really engage with their audience.

It was a really fab day and we had films from 13 countries in our final selection of 21 films.  Some pictures below.

I've also been auditioning like mad, so hopefully a few irons in the fire including a new developing feature film.  Here I am outside the Cockpit Theatre near Edgware Road, London.

If you get a chance please check out the crowd funding campaign from Robo Films (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/ripper-tour-london#/) , this macabre tale is a reimagining of the Jack the Ripper story starring Lynn Lowry, Dudley Sutton and myself!

That's it from me for now!

Blog soon
